This is an effort for residents and visitors to rediscover our downtown and support our local businesses in Manheim, Elizabethtown, Ephrata, Mount Joy and Lititz!

JANUARY 2012
January 14th- Lovin’ Lititz Every Second-Downtown Lititz Second Friday event 5pm-9pm- shops and other venues offer great family activities and entertainment free and open to the public, every month and a rain or shine event. Lititz Website
FEBRUARY
February 17-19th Fire and Ice Festival Sculptures will begin to be placed Friday mid-morning weather permitting thru out Main and Broad Streets. For more info www.lititzfireandicefestival.com
- Friday Night Block Party, Main Street Lititz, 5 pm-9 pm; Activities include live ice carving, DJ, entertainment, fire eater, marshmallow roast, wing eating contest, food.
- Saturday activities Chili Cook Off, new location! Warwick High School cafeteria, 301 West Orange Street, 11am-3 pm. Button required for entrance, $5 before the event, $7 at the door. Limited to 1200. Approximately 15 chefs will volunteer their talents and their chili to raise money for their choice of charities. Donations will be made at chef's station with the tickets you purchase in the cook off (1 ticket= $1.00). Trophies will be awarded for the most money raised and 7 other categories by guest judges. Buttons may be purchased prior to the event at the following locations; Curiosity Shoppe 39 E. Main St. & Bomberger’s Store, 555 Furnace Hills Pk/Rt 501, Lititz. Winter Wonderland Carnival, new location! Warwick High School gym, 301 West Orange Street, Lititz. Games, prizes, food, entertainment and inflatable's. Fun for all ages.

February 18th- “Back to School Dance” in conjunction with “Fire and Ice”
“Fire and Ice” will be held February 17-19 in downtown Lititz and at Warwick

Cruisin' the Square – Classic Car and Motorcycle Show: Saturday, October 20th 10am – 2pm. The rich heritage and colorful legacy of classic cars is once again on display in Downtown Manheim. Now in its 12th year, this hugely popular event gives patrons a chance to really get up close to these wonderful vehicles while enthusiasts get to dust of their pride and joy. More than 1,500 visitors are expected at the show, which is one of the biggest events organized by the Manheim Downtown Development Group. Over 250 individual enthusiasts proudly display their fabulous classic cars for a day of motoring nostalgia. These wonderfully restored cars include corvettes, dodge challengers, ford mustangs, jaguars and many more. In addition to the show, there will be live dance performances by Cricket’s Performing Arts and EMazinGRACE, music provided by DJ Backdraft and delicious foods provided by community groups and our local restaurants. There will be plenty of door prizes, raffles, goodie bags and awards. As you enjoy the day, we hope that you will also enjoy the authenticity and diversity of our downtown. Christmas Tree Lighting: Saturday, December 2nd. (Times to be determined) The arrival of the holiday spirit officially gets started in Manheim. Join us on the Manheim Square for this real life “Whoville” experience which will include caroling, yummy hot chocolate, and a community jazz band. Other event entertainment features local students from our own Crickets School for the Performing Arts sharing dance numbers from the Nutcracker Ballet and pony and cart rides for children. Our Tree Lighting would not be complete without Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Mrs. Claus will read some classic Christmas stories to children of all ages! Residents and visitors can buy a chance to “flip the switch” on the lights illuminating the tree that will adorn our beautiful and historic Market Square. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting is a special event for the young and old!
